Hi there and thanks for using the AIDS Vancouver On-line Helpline as a source for HIV/AIDS related information.
There is absolutely no HIV risk in the activity you describe. The reason being is that HIV is a very weak virus and dies once exposed to air. The only concern you may have is exposure to Hepatitis B, as it lives in blood and on other surfaces for a longer time. Even that risk is very minimal, but you may wish to speak to your health care professional because there is a vaccine for both Hepatitis A & B.
I trust I have addressed your concerns however, should further information be required, feel free to contact us again.

In good health,
Jonathan,
AIDS Vancouver Helpline Volunteer
