I am having a unprotected oral sex with CSW and tested negative at 12.2 weeks i.e after 85 days of my possible HIV exposer. Is it conclusive or should I re test after 90 days.

Hi there,

Thank you for your inquiry. From what we gather from your question, you are asking about the reliability of a fourth-generation HIV test using CMIA and if you should get re-tested.

Fourth-generation tests have a window period of about 4-12 week where antibodies can start to become detectable (1). Given that you tested near the upper end of the window period, there would not be a need to get re-tested again.
