Syphillis 82 days- negative

HIV:

36 days oraquick advanced antibody oral swab- negative

51 days oraquick advanced antibody oral swab- negative

62 days oraquick advanced antibody oral swab- negative

78 days oraquick advanced antibody oral swab- negative

84 days oraquick advanced antibody oral swab- negative

99 days oraquick advanced antibody oral swab- negative

104 days 3rd generation HIV 1/2 EIA screen with reflexes- Negative

Would you say I am conclusively negative and move on. Thank you!

Hi,

Thanks for contacting AIDS Vancouver Helpline. I will try to answer your questions as best I can.

First of all, HIV does not discriminate based on ethnicity, gender, disability, sexual orientation, age, political views or any other characteristic.

Receiving oral sex puts you at a negligible risk meaning there is a potential for HIV transmission because they do involve the exchange of body fluids. However, there has never been a confirmed report.

It is great you got tested for HIV and other STIs. Both the 3rd Generation EIA and Oraquick test can be taken 4 weeks to 3 months (although up to 95% of infections are detectable with 4-6 weeks). Most people develop detectable antibodies in 21- 2 5 days. The World Health Organization considers all test results conclusive at 84 days. Since you have had many tests post 84 days and they have all come back negative, you need no further testing since these results are conclusive.

If you would like further information please check out our website at [www.aidsvancouver.org](www.aidsvancouver.org) or give us a phone call at (604)-696-4666.

Best Wishes,

Renee
