Hi there and thank you for reaching out to AIDS Vancouver with your questions! We're happy to help.

There are only 4 conditions in which your HIV window period may be affected. They are:

- If you are receiving antiviral treatment for hepatitis C
- If you are receiving treatment for cancer (chemotherapy)
- If you are on P.E.P. treatment for HIV
- If you have a pre-existing immunodeficiency disease. These are very serious and are most often diagnosed at birth.

Hashimoto's Thyroiditis is an autoimmune disorder, which is not the same thing as an immunodeficiency disease.

Hashimoto's Thyroiditis will not affect the window period of your test results. The means that the test you took at 87 days is considered conclusive. Congratulations!

I hope I have answered your question, and feel free to contact us with any further concerns.
