Hi, I am just anxious right now. I had a mutual masturbation experience with a guy whom I didn't know the status. But a week before that incident I had a hairline cut in my left hand. Then 2 weeks after I got my self check and it went out non-reactive. I just want know if I need further test?

Hello and thanks for using the AIDS Vancouver Helpline as your source for HIV related information. There was no risk of your acquiring HIV when you engaged in mutual masturbation. A small superficial cut does not provide an opportunity for HIV to pass to you.

Testing at two weeks after possible exposure, depending on the test, may give you an early indication of your HIV status; however when there is a higher risk exposure, testing at 12 weeks after exposure will give you a conclusive result. In your situation further testing does not appear to be necessary.

Please contact us at the Helpline again if you have other HIV related questions or concerns.
