Hello There,

Thank you for posting on the AIDS Vancouver Helpline Forum.

Receiving oral sex is a negligible risk activity meaning it presents a potential for HIV transmission because it does involve the exchange of body fluids. However, there has never been a confirmed report.

I would also like to point out that it is the activity and not the person that poses a threat to your health, therefore it does not matter whether you had a sexual encounter with a sex worker or someone else.

Finally, all HIV test results are conclusive at 3 months post exposure. Therefore, all the test results you have received are reliable and conclusive.

Hope this Helps!

Please let us know if we can provide any more information. Or if you would like to call and speak to someone at the Helpline, you can do so anonymously and confidentially by calling 604-696-4666, Monday to Friday between 9am-4pm.

All the Best,

Reeman
