Hi and thanks for contacting the AIDS Vancouver Helpline. Receiving oral sex presents negligible risk, which means that there are no reported cases of HIV transmission through oral sex. Rubbing your penis against your partner if there was no direct exchange of body fluids also presented negligible risk.

Condom use is always a useful way to help reduce the risk of HIV and other STIs (Sexually Transmitted Infections). Also if you are sexually active you may wish to consider a routine of regular testing for HIV and STIs as part of maintaining your sexual health.

If you have more HIV related questions in the future, please contact the Helpline again.

All the best,

Marnelle
