I kissed one girl on the club on 13th of November 2014, the kiss not more than two sec…however I’m always bleeding when I brush my teeth, also on that day I remember while we are dancing one other guy hit the girl by mistake and she felt pain in her mouth but I didn’t see any blood, plus I kissed her one hour after the hit, also I didn’t taste any blood… 4 days after I felt my body is hot during the night time for two days only… I did the HIV antibody on 21th of Jan 2015 and on 27th of Jan 2015 both are negative…
On 15th of March 2015, I did antibody again the method was: immune chromatography, the result was also negative..

My questions here:
1- Do I need to do one more test after 6 months again?
2- I don’t know what type of the test, however I received the result after 4 hours, also the test happened by taking blood from my vein.
3- Since two days again I’m feeling my body is hot during the sleep time, however my temperature is 36, is that relate to HIV?

Hi there,

Thank you for reaching out to AIDS Vancouver, I'm happy to address your concerns.

1. Tests are considered to be conclusive at 12 weeks. So no, no further testing for you is necessary.

2. There are many different types of tests, and I don't believe quick results to be an indication that the results are not accurate. The test result accuracy varies from being 99.6% to 99.9% accurate.

3. Symptoms are not an indication of having HIV; the only way to know is through testing, which you have done. If you are experiencing symptoms that are affecting your health and life in a negative way, I would recommend consulting your local healthcare professional/doctor.
