Hi Doctor, around 10 days ago I went to a massage palour and the lady gave me handjob. There was nothing to tell until this lady spit saliva on my penis and continued masterbating for few seconds ... After that I stopped her and washed the penis with water. My questions are:
1. I did not so sure that the saliva came on my penis with her blood or not, can hiv transmit in this way?
2. I also did not know my penis had an open wound or not because it was dark in the room, is there any chance to contact to hiv since she spit on my penis and masterbating for few more seconds?

Thank you !

Hi there,

Thank you for your inquiry. From what we gather from your question, you are asking about HIV transmission after receiving a handjob and your penis coming into contact with saliva.

From the information given, this scenario is determined to be No Risk (transmission of HIV is not possible in the given scenario).

The scenario mentioned above does not meet the three components of the HIV Transmission Equation (see down below).
HIV transmission occurs when the following conditions are met: There must be the presence of HIV positive fluid (semen, pre-cum, vaginal fluid, rectal fluid, blood, or breastmilk), coupled with direct access to the bloodstream

In this case, there has been no direct access to the bloodstream through this activity that would warrant a risk of HIV transmission.  In addition, HIV is not transmitted through saliva. This study on saliva and HIV transmission has indicated that "In saliva, inhibition of HIV may be partly due to several inhibitors of viruses that are present in the saliva."(1)

Recommendation: No need for HIV test with the scenario provided
For the situation above, it is recommended that you refer to a healthcare provider for HIV screening.
