lady101
a friend and I (I am a woman) tried to have intercourse.
He didn't have a condom on and he put his penis inside of me. It was in and then completely out and then he put it inside me again and then completely out and he did this 4 times until I freaked and wanted to leave.

I don't think there was pre cum but there definitely was No ejaculated. Am i at risk of HIV?

Hi there,

Thank you for your inquiry. From what we gather from your question, you are asking about the possibility of HIV transmission after engaging in unprotected sex. From the information given, this scenario is determined to be High Risk
(There is evidence of transmission through these activities and are the majority of cases of transmission).

In order for transmission to occur, a number of requirements must be met (see below).

HIV transmission requires the presence of HIV positive fluid (such as semen, vaginal fluid, pre-cum, rectal fluid, breastmilk, etc), coupled with a High, Low, or Negligible Risk activity, that provides the virus direct access to the bloodstream.

The scenario you described above is considered High Risk as HIV can be transmitted through pre-cum, and given that no protection was used, there was direct access to the bloodstream. This is considered a High Risk activity regardless of the duration or whether or not there was any semen present. While consistent use of protection, such as condoms, does not reduce the risk to zero, it is one of the primary methods to protect against HIV transmission (1).

Recommendation: Refer to a health care provider for HIV testing.
