I had an exposure with a man.I put condom and he gave me oral sex. After that I rubbed his anus. There was no actual penetration. Then I fingered his anus.I got tested after 1 week,3rd week, 4th week,6th week,8th week and 10 weeks and 3 days after exposure. All were rapid test and looks for HIV1/2
and are negative. Do I need further testing. Im worried. Thanks in advance

Hello There,

Thank you for posting on the AIDS Vancouver Helpline Forum.

The exposure you have experienced already is a no risk activity. Therefore, technically, you did not need any testing to be taken.

You can fully trust the results you have received as all HIV tests are conclusive at 3 months post exposure. We have never seen test results change past the 6 week period post exposure.

Hope this helps!

Please let us know if we can provide any more information. Or if you would like to call and speak to someone at the Helpline, you can do so anonymously and confidentially by calling 604-696-4666, Monday-Friday between 10am-4pm.
