Hello and thanks for contacting AIDS Vancouver with your question.

It seems you are concerned that losing weight might be indicating that you have HIV. We are glad to provide some information.

We do not use symptoms to determine the HIV status of an individual. The best way to determine your HIV status is to get tested and you have already done so before. At Aids Vancouver we encourage people to use HIV testing as a regular health maintenance routine. This means getting tested once or twice a year. This will put your mind at rest as you will have tests results that are recent.

With regards to your weight lose we encourage you to discuss this with your doctor as there might be other reasons that can cause that.

Our Helpline Online forum has got postings that re related to your question that you can read for additional information. If you have further questions feel free to contact us again.
