Good Day!

I am freaking out right now due to the sexual engagement I did 3 weeks ago.I met this guy and we agreed to have mutual masturbation, just jacking off each other. While we're doing it, he gave me a fleshlight for him to give me more pleasure. He did not use the fleshlight before me 9 but now I'm thinking the worst scenario which is: he used the fleshlight on an earlier time of the day, ejaculated in it and had semen remains inside it, and he is positive (the best scenario is of course: he cleaned it after cumming in it and he is negative)

My fear now, am I at risk of contracting HIV? while it's true that HIV cannot survive an outside environment aside from the human body. the fleshlight itself is a closed environment (but not vacuumed) and I am thinking that it has the potential to make the HIV virus.

I'm starting to freak out right now because I cannot a reliable read regarding my issue. Hope to hear from you. Thank you!

Hi there, and thanks a lot for contacting the AIDS Vancouver Helpline for you HIV/AIDS related health information.

It sounds like you are concerned about your risk of HIV transmission after using a fleshlight that May have been used by someone else before you.

Using disinfected sex toys is considered a Negligible Risk activity. This means that it presents a potential for HIV transmission because it can involve the exchange of body fluids. However, there has never been a confirmed report.

Here are some of the reasons why:

* HIV is a Human-to-Human virus. It cannot be transmitted to you by an object (A fleshlight)

* HIV needs a human host to survive. Once HIV is outside of the body and exposed to oxygen it can no longer transmit. Any bodily fluids on of in the fleshlight are outside the body, exposed to oxygen and therefore could not transmit HIV to you.

I would encourage you to check out the following resources about HIV:
