Hello,

Thank you for your inquiry. From what we gather from the question, you were asking whether or not your test result can be considered conclusive.

Third generation HIV tests (such as MeriScreen) have a window period between 3 weeks and 3 months. Most individuals will have detectable antibodies within 6 weeks, however testing is recommended at 3 months for completely conclusive results (1).

This window period "resets" if PEP is used, meaning testing should be done 3 months post-PEP completion for completely conclusive results. Given that you received testing at 83 days post-PEP, I do recommend retesting at 3 months (90 days) post-PEP completion. However, I want to emphasize that your negative test result is likely conclusive, considering how close it is to the 3 month mark

Recommendation: Repeat testing 3 months post-PEP completion. Refer to a healthcare professional for other health related questions.
