Hi, a month before i went to asian Massage parlour, where i had a nude massage and nothing other than massage. Rightnow my concern is, what is the possibility that infectious transmission can happen through the massage bed and towel.

Thank you for using AIDS Vancouver to answer your inquiry about HIV/AIDS. I am pleased to inform you that there is no risk of transmitting HIV when receiving a nude massage, as you described. The reason is that HIV dies upon exposure to air (oxygen), and therefore cannot live on surfaces such as a massage bed or a towel. For a risk to exist, specific HIV positive fluids must come into direct contact with the blood stream of an HIV negative person. I trust I have addressed your concerns, but if you require any further information please feel free to contact AIDS Vancouver again.

In Good Health,

Marta, AIDS Vancouver Volunteer
